GlobalSign Announces CloudSSL Offering for SaaS Providers
October 5, 2017 - 3 minutes read
GlobalSign (www.globalsign.com), a leading provider of identity and security solutions, today announced the availability of its CloudSSL offering. GlobalSign CloudSSL enables SaaS providers to easily and affordably provide their customers with secure, built-in encryption for their online businesses. With CloudSSL, SaaS providers can secure their sites quickly and efficiently, a necessary competitive differentiator and a sign of global trust. In addition, the automated and scalable offering delivers an SSL solution that integrates directly into the company’s services for its customers, so their users don’t have to worry about installing and managing certificates themselves.
GlobalSign’s CloudSSL is designed specifically for providers of cloud-based services, such as CDNs, VDNs, eCommerce platforms, website builders, and other XaaS offerings (i.e. infrastructure, platforms, applications, storage), that need to secure services or communications for multiple customers. Its automated certificate provisioning and management capability significantly reduces the burden on providers’ internal support teams. CloudSSL also supports wildcard certificates – the ideal solution for SaaS providers hosting or managing multiple sites or pages existing on the same domain.
SaaS providers like HotelPlanner.com, the leader in online group travel, find CloudSSL to be an invaluable solution.
“Working with the GlobalSign team has been an A+ experience. Everything has been very smooth. Prior to working with them, managing certificates was a nightmare because we relied on our partners to manually order their own certificates and they were always expiring,” said John Prince, co-founder and chief information officer, HotelPlanner.com. “GlobalSign’s CloudSSL offering just makes my life a lot easier.”
He added: “The flexibility of CloudSSL enables us to easily secure new sites quickly and efficiently in a fully automated process, as well as create multiple wildcard domains on one certificate. As a result, we have much more control over the certificate process.”
CloudSSL certificates are issued to service providers at the Organization Validated (OV) level and domains are added after fully automated domain validation checks are performed. Providers can secure multiple domains and up to 500 unique SANs with just one certificate. Additionally, providers can dynamically add and remove domains via APIs and if a SAN is removed, the returned SAN can be re-used for another domain without incurring any additional costs. Once a domain has been vetted, additional sub-domains can be added without additional domain validation.
“CloudSSL’s flexible, automated platform makes it extremely easy for SaaS providers to issue and update SSL certificates quickly, easily and affordably,” said Doug Beattie, vice president of product management, GlobalSign. “Our offering helps online companies like HotelPlanner.com offer a secure and reliable user experience for their customers. We are very pleased that HotelPlanner.com found our solution effective for its business needs.”
