Sophos Mobile 7.1 – secures company data and guards user privacy

Sophos Mobile 7.1 is now available and, with new features, it’s an even better Enterprise Mobility Management solution. We are pleased to announce the arrival of Sophos Mobile 7.1. The features in this release make Sophos Mobile an even better Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution, allowing you to spend less time and effort on managing and securing the mobile devices in your business, and the data that lives on them.
For organizations that let staff use private devices for work in so-called Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) models, Sophos Mobile 7.1 introduces Container-only Management. This gives admins control over corporate email, contacts and documents in the Secure Workspace and Secure Email apps without requiring management of the mobile device itself.
Offering staff the flexibility to use their personal mobile device of choice for work – as opposed to the one that the IT team mandates that they should have – generally makes for happier employees and an increase in productivity. But, BYOD can also be challenging for both companies and employees.
If steps are not taken to protect company information and make sure that sensitive data doesn’t fall into the wrong hands, BYOD can add significant security risks and open the door for potential data breaches. Additionally, users may be hesitant to allowing the company to manage their device and give their employers the ability to wipe or see details of their personal device.
Container-only Management in Sophos Mobile 7.1 lets businesses rest easier knowing that their company data is secure, and users don’t have to worry about their employers accessing any private information from their devices.
